Named the “UK City of Culture 2013” our Maiden City is steeped in as much history and conflict as our Capital. For visitors looking for another urban adventure to match our murals tour, a trip to Derry is just the thing. Being collected around 8 am from your accommodation you will travel up to the city where you will take in sites like the Guild Hall, the Free Derry Corner, and the Free Derry Museum. You will get to walk along the historic walls that held off King James’ army for 105 days during the siege of the city in the 1600s. You will see the areas of the Bogside where the atrocities of Bloody Sunday took place in 1972 and the effects it has left behind today.
On request, we can also offer quotes on trips to areas such as Strangford Lough and the Ards peninsula, Castle Ward and St Patrick’s Trail, or further even to Newcastle and the Mourne Mountains. If we cannot personally escort you, we will be able to pass on details to local colleagues in the Co. Down area.
